Week 15

Wow! What a week. Xander has found some new noises to share with the household. He loves to "sing". We'll turn on the music and he'll start to sing- it's an interesting sound that starts in his throat and just vibrates out. He's so funny.

He found his thumbs, too. He'll stare at those thumbs for hours... turning his fist this way and that as he searches each and every side. It's amazing to watch him. Mom and dad stare at him for hours.

Sitting up...

Surprise!

Love my Winnie~

I look like a big boy...

Tell me this is not the cutest little man ever! He is growing so fast. He's trying to help hold his own bottle and sit up and making all kinds of noises. He's our little doll and we adore him!

Still week 14...

Wow~ what a wonderful week! So many changes happening. My last day of work was Friday and it was wonderful and sad. I am very excited for the next adventure in our life. I have painted, rearranged, moved, built and put together ideas, furniture, and toys... I haven't been this excited in a long time. And nervous as ever, of course.

Excitement because I get to see my beautiful son everyday and I get to hole him and kiss him and spend time with him. I am super excited to watch children- they are so full of life. I look forward to learning and growing.

I was talking to my little sister, Jodi, today and Xander (who was on my right leg facing out) started rocking himself back and forth, back and forth, his little legs dangling on either side of my leg. He's so strong. He's also slobbering like a crazy man. Holy cow...

But he's still the cutest man ever!

And takes the cutest pictures...

Now, you tell me this is the wrong choice- ya, that's what I thought~ he's definitely worth it!

Week 14/ 3 Months

Sorry, I missed last weeks update. My grandma passed this last weekend and then a local friend passed this week and I am in the middle of trying to get my house ready for daycare. Then we had our second Social Worker visit. It has been a crazy and emotional and interesting.

Xander is 14 weeks old- that's three months. Isn't that crazy? Where does the time go? Xander loves to sing with dad. He watches dad intently while he sings and then coos right along with him. It's adorable. Music calms our little man right down.

He loves to be pulled up- he will try to "sit up" on his own (not sure how else to describe it). He'll pull his little head forward and grunt until we pull him up. He loves to stand (with a lot of help from his mom and dad). He enjoys facing out so, when we hold him, he can see what's going on.

I AM irresistible...

His new thing lately has been to try to "help". He will grab our hands or the bottle to hold it- he is not yet successful and usually ends up pushing the bottle away- very frustrating for him... Here he is content to just hold daddy's thumb, for now...

He loves his Bumbo- he can sit anywhere and watch mommy and daddy work.

He still loves his swing. Not sure what we're going to do when he no longer fits in it...

All in all he is our happy little man who loves to be held, sung to, snuggled, and danced with. He loves attention and especially loves kisses.
And we love our little man!

Week 12

My sweet boy had a fun and interesting weekend. Grandpa & Grandma came to visit and he loved it. So many pictures were taken that he got all worn out. He loved to cuddle with his grands. What a wonderful weekend. Wish it hadn't gone so quickly.

He's such a happy little man, full of life and smiles for everyone. He showed off for G-pa & G-ma as he stood on his feet, holding his weight and trying to balance (that will take a lot more time). He still loves being on his tummy and really enjoys the mobile that he received from his grandma and grandpa Marriott. He loves to watch those little stuffed animals race in circles.

He loves to smile~ more than anything. He giggles sometime but not every time yet. We love his sweet noises and realize more and more how unlike other children he is. Our little Xan barely fusses. We thought that he cried normally. Apparently, what we think of as crying is nothing like the crying that other babies do. We have been blessed with the most calm baby~ so full of life and aware of all that's around him and so very intent. We love this little guy and enjoy watching him grow and learn and absorb everything around him.

So, this week I will be looking into what I need to do to be at home with my son. We have decided to watch other people's children during the day so that I can be here for my little one. Wish me luck on this new adventure!

Week 11

Sweet little man is growing so fast. He has growing pains that make me sad. He cries and cries. I hold him really close and we cuddle and I sing to him. He loves daddy's singing as well. Daddy dances with him and Xander just looks up into his eyes. He's such a doll and makes our family very happy and complete.

And my son is the strongest baby ever! He loves to be pulled up by his arms and lifts his little head up- he also loves when daddy holds him in the air or on his arm- tummy down, head up- as though he were flying through the air.

Look what a big boy I am! Sitting in his Bumbo

How cute am I?

Love my mobile...

Riding daddy's leg~ calming down

Week 10

My sweet boy is growing up! Ok he's growing out of his newborn clothes- some of which are just right, but will soon be too small (like tomorrow).
Newborn outfit~ look how big I am!!

He's so strong. He loves to hold his head up and look around at everything. He'll look right into your eyes and watch as you talk to him. His look is so intent and so... shall I say, understanding? You laugh, but it is true.

He's got the smile down and we've heard the cutest giggle a couple times.

He is in an "I don't need sleep" stage and won't stay asleep during naps. Every once in awhile he'll finally crash...

He's such a sweet little boy. It's easy to fall in love time and time again. We feel so blessed. Let the giggling begin!

2 month doctor's appointment

3 shots! Yuck!! My son is 10lbs 8.5oz and 22.5" He's in the 50 percentile for height and head circumference and 25 percentile for weight. The doctor is not worried and she put him on his tummy- no crying- and before she could ask if he could roll... he did! She was impressed at how strong his neck is. He screamed bloody murder when they stuck him with those needles and I tried not to cry for my infant boy- helpless as he is. We are now home, cuddling...
